Sam Awolesi

Group Chief Executive Officer

BSc MSc M.I.MechE 

Sam gained his Bachelor of Science, Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering & Mathematics, as well as his Master of Science degree in Energy & Environmental Science, from Oxford, Reading & Cranfield.

 

Sam formed Environmental Science Limited in 1994 with a focus on research into pollution abatement and airflow quality in buildings, including LEV testing and monitoring for airborne contaminants.

​

Sam now specialises in assisting firms to comply with COSHH, CHIP, CLP and GHS Regulations, through the production of Safety Data Sheets.

​

Sam's team have been involved in the design and development of ChemTrak, ChemHELP and WASPS; software packages deployed to businesses, with the aim of helping them to understand and improve their chemical handling knowledge and capabilities.

Roy Simmons

Director

With a background in Electronics Engineering, Roy “Commander” Simmons has gained much experience in many diverse fields including Telecoms, Television and in Semiconductor Manufacturing.

 

As a Senior Business and Project Management administrator, Roy has successfully managed many large and complex projects and has gained much experience in Health and Safety management.

 

Roy has been able to combine his engineering skills with SHE requirements. This unique combination of experience has made it possible for him to develop and implement practical and cost effective methods in areas such as Waste Management, Product Conformance Evaluation, Transportation of Chemical products and Safe Working practices

Dr Janice Henderson

Senior Consultant

BSc, PhD 

Janice graduated with a first-class honours degree in Biochemistry from the University of Western Australia and has since gained over 20 years of research experience.

 

Working as a Research fellow at Oxford, Janice completed a Doctorate in Plant Science.

​

During her commercial experience she received training in Manual Handling and Dangerous Goods for Transport. Janice brings to ESG irrepressible enthusiasm and a strong background in chemistry, which is needed to assist customers comply with COSHH and CHIP Regulations.

​

Janice is responsible for the development and application of ESG’s WASPS system to the new REACH and GHS Regulations that will have a major impact on customers’ Safety Data Sheets and COSHH Assessments.

Patrick Awolesi

Product Development Director

Patrick trained in heating and gas services before joining ESG, and now has more than 12 years' experience in the production of Safety Data Sheets and COSHH assessments.

 

Patrick has developed considerable expertise in GHS and CLP classification, while also using his technical training to conduct on-site air monitoring and stack sampling for our corporate clients, according to EPA Regulations.

​

As Product Development Director for ESG subsidiary Environmental Science Hygiene Ltd (ESH), Patrick will focus his efforts toward the development of our range of healthcare & hygiene products, under trading name Palmtree Hygiene Ltd.

Oluwagbemileke Ogunlana

Technical Officer

Oluwagbemileke (Leke) is a specialist in the operation and maintenance of equipment for the medical, chemical and food industries.

​

Qualified as an Electrical and Electronics engineer, Leke has more than 20 years' experience in training laboratories across Africa in the safe and effective use of on-site equipment.

​

While maintaining a focus on sales and marketing of Palmtree Hygiene Ltd consumer and healthcare products in African markets, Leke has received full training in the production of Safety Data Sheets and is excited to be working with our corporate support team as a technical officer.

Kate Awolesi

Technical Officer

Kate joins Environmental Science Group with pre-existing knowledge of the Safety Data Sheet and Chemical Handling industries, having informal exposure to it for a number of years.

​

With more than 9 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Kate joined our 2022 internship program, keen to carve out a career in chemical health and safety.

​

Kate excelled throughout training, to become a fully-fledged member of our Safety Data Sheet authoring team, and looks forward to supporting our clients in coming years in her role as Technical Officer.

Joyce Tenumah

Technical Officer

Joyce is certified in project management and has over ten years working experience in the installation and maintenance of instruments and equipment for meteorological data in the Aviation industry.

 

Qualified as a Metallurgical Engineer, Joyce has also received full training in the production of Safety Data Sheets, conducting COSHH Risk Assessments for chemicals, and labelling of products for Supply and Transport.

 

Joyce has been a part of the ESG team for over five years.

Peter Yelverton

Technical Officer

With over fifteen years of experience in fire safety and emergency response, Peter is not only an internationally certified firefighter and fire instructor (NFPA 1001, NFPA 1041), but also a certified rescue technician with specialized training in handling hazardous materials (NFPA 472). His expertise includes defensive HazMat techniques, technical and mass decontamination, and rescue operations.

In addition to his hands-on roles, Peter has implemented job hazard analysis and risk assessment procedures for machinery and equipment, enhancing safety measures in his field. His role as a fire instructor and safety officer has allowed him to share his extensive knowledge in several Sub-Saharan countries.
