One Day COSHH Seminar for the Engineering Environment

Hazardous substances are used in many areas in engineering related industries. Not only are they found in the obvious places, such as shop floor, but they are also used in other workshop areas, e.g. woodwork, welding, machining, fabrication, degreasing and within support areas, e.g. assembly, cleaning, maintenance, stores, etc. They may be used as single substances or as preparations, often with a trade name. In order for staff and visitors to be protected from these materials, assessments must be made, in accordance with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations, covering the risk to health of those exposed to them.

The seminar speakers have many years of working experience in the field of COSHH in engineering establishments. Using basic steps they will show what is actually required to make a ‘suitable and sufficient’ COSHH assessment. The new Workplace Exposure Limits (WELs) which came into force in April 2005 will also be discussed.  Attendees will find this seminar informative, practical and relevant. find out more
