I've had a look at the Preview List and none of my products are listed so why should I subscribe?

Most products are compounds or mixtures of individual chemical components, the law requires that data sheets list all these, and give their concentration levels.

In many cases, the inclusion of only one or two of these individual components results in a classification under CHIP of the whole product as being harmful in some way. (For example: TOXIC; T, or Highly Flammable; F).

The ESL data sheet library has around 90% of the components used in most common products. In many cases, you should therefore be able to check your own SDS's for CHIP(3) classification accuracy. (See a worked example)

Do I have to register to gain access ?

Yes, the registration process enables us to assign a log-in ID to you. This is a Username and Password, without these the system can't identify you.

Why can't I register by post or e-mail?

Basically this is to save cost.  If you send your registration details in by post (or even by e-mail) these details would then need to be transferred to the registration system by us. In addition, there is some increased scope for error in the process.

How do you assign Usernames and Passwords?

Usernames are taken extracted from your registration details (usually the last three digits of the postcode and some characters from your name. Passwords are entirely arbitrary and are assigned automatically as part of the registration system itself. 

How do I get my Username and Password?

Once we have received your payment these will be sent to you by e-mail at the e-mail address you specified on your registration application. Please note: we can't send Passwords to other e-mail addresses.

Can I change my Username and Password?

Generally no, but you can ask us to change your Password for you at any time, however, such request must be in writing. (Sorry we, can't accept e-mail requests). Additionally, if there is any kind of problem with your log-in we may, at our discretion, assign you a different Username and or Password. We will send you these by e-mail. 

What does the subscription cost, and what do I get?

The subscription costs is £149.00 (GBP) EX VAT for three months. This is a flat fee, the subscription allows you access to the entire ESL CHIP(3) compliant data sheet library in addition to data sheets with provisional data.

There are no limits to the number of data sheets you can download, however, if you wish to download substantial quantities then we strongly encourage you to apply to get the entire library from us on CD. The CD has a data sheet listing utility and data sheets are supplied in MS Word format.

When I register, can I really download the whole library?

Yes, but although there are no current limits to downloads, subscribers wishing to retain the whole library are strongly encouraged to request the CD-ROM for the small additional fee of £85.00 postage paid.

How can I get the current CD without a subscription?

The cost of the CD without subscription is £695.00. This cost includes all quarterly updates for one full year. 

Can I register for more than 3 months?

Yes, you may specify how long you wish to register at registration. You may register for 6 months for £298.00 or for 12 months for £596.00 Just send us the appropriate amount. 

How do I renew my subscription and do I have to re-register? 

To renew your subscription just sent us payment for the renewal amount. You do not need to re-register, if your subscription runs contiguously, that is, if you renew WITHIN 7 days of your current subscription period expiry date.
